Water Bottle
Terrified of running, this year I ran track for the very first time. Never having run before, I was really intimidated by the track time, especially since most of the members had been running their whole lives. With the encouragement of my boyfriend and friends, I got the courage to join the team. After joining the team, I got a large blue tinted water jug that I carried around everyday full of water and drank before track so that I would be hydrated. I realized the importance of being hydrated after showing up to drank very dehydrated and trying to run. I felt dizzy, tired, and sick all of practice. This water bottle was the solution My water bottle is holds approximately 70 fl.oz. The white part at the top that you drink out of is slightly chewed. My name is inscribed in large letters on the front with sharpie. The letters are slightly worn away. They signal that the bottle has been used. I am interested in the design of the bottle. I find it intriguing how water is able to fill up in the rigid handle on the side. I am choosing this bottle as my evocative object because it represents the courage and dedication that I needed to run track. It serves as a memory of me doing track, but also reminds me of the benefits of trying new things even though they may be scary at first. I actually ended up really liking track, and I was not as horrible as I thought I would be. Due to my experience running track, I decided to train for the half-marathon with in November. In a way, this water bottle proves to me that if I set my mind to it, I will also be successful in the half marathon like I was in track.
