My Object
An object that is very important to me is my necklace with my birthstone, an amethyst, on it. I was given the necklace on my sixteenth birthday. It is significant to me because it was a gift from my parents, who I know took the time to pick it out and carefully decide what I would want for that special day. I love the necklace because it represents the month I was born, February, which I find significant because I like to keep up with my horoscope in different magazines even though I know they are not true and can be really silly. The necklace is my most valuable possession, not because of its worth, but because of its significance. Though I could go buy the necklace over again if lost, I would be devastated because this particular necklace means so much to me because of where it came from. It also symbolizes the trust my parents have me. They would have not bought me anything so small and meaningful if they knew I would lose it. I always keep it safely locked away or on my body to make sure I never lose it. I hope to pass it onto my daughter someday.
