Drawing, I guess, would be the process of producing an image on a solid surface (paper, wall, canvas, and so on) through the use pencil, ink, charcoal and other materials. I’m not sure I could say in good conscious that I enjoy drawing. I find drawing to be often times tedious and demanding, but I do find contentment after spending many hours on one image and coming to a complete product. Generally speaking, the drawings I create aren’t for my own enjoyment. I tend to be more satisfied by my drawings when others have found them entertaining and so this is something that defines how I approach a concept for a drawing. I like incorporating either humor or clever concepts into my illustrations so that the can be appreciated for more than just the drawing. The purpose that drawing serves me is that it gives me a means to create an image that is self reflective and personal that can be shared with others. In essence it allows me to share my time and perspective and ideas in a way that words can’t express. For others, drawing is a process that allows them to connect with each other without direct contact.
