I define drawing as using marks to create an image that can be either abstract or representational. My expansive definition of drawing is exciting for me because it allows drawing to be done by many different tools and mediums. While sometimes drawing can be frustrating for me when I am trying to make a very realistic drawing, I definitely enjoy it and can find it very rewarding. Drawing serves as a way to express my self. Also, drawing can be calming just to doodle on the sides of my papers. I think that drawing definitely serves as a form of communication for others. Also drawing can serve as a way to capture history by documenting a moment in time. It can be done by communicating with written words or through creating an image with marks.
