Installation Art

Because most of the work I do is very realistic and often on a canvas I was surprised when I took an interest in the Installation Art that was at one of the galleries we visited. I have never done any work with Installation Art but after the show that we saw the other day I was compelled to do research on it. I was amazed at the artists (I cant remember her name) ability to work with such random materials such as dental floss, balloons, and rubber bands. Initially when I saw her artwork I was intrigued by their unique shapes but when I read what they were made of I was astounded. Just the obvious amount of hard work and effort that went into to her pieces shocked me. I envy her worth ethic and creativity.

I would like to see more Installation Art in different galleries very soon. But I think it would also be really neat if our class created a piece together and installed it in a show together. Not only would the finished product be incredible with so many minds working together but it would also give me the experience and confidence I need to possibly do my own installation art in the future.
